LTC DAVID T. MILLER

Biography
A native of Bettendorf, Iowa, LTC Miller was commissioned from the U.S. Military Academy at West Point in 2005 as a military intelligence (Ml) officer.
After completing the Ml Officer Basic Course at Ft. Huachuca, Arizona, he was assigned as the squadron assistant S2 for 2-9 Cavalry, 3rd Heavy Brigade Combat Team (HBCT), 4th Infantry Division (ID) at Fort Carson, Colorado. In this position, he deployed to Salah al-Din and Diyala provinces, Iraq, from February to October 2006. He then became the squadron S2 for 4-10 Cavalry, 3rd HBCT, 4th ID, deploying to Baghdad, Iraq from December 2007 through February 2009.

Upon returning from Baghdad, he assessed into the 160th Special Operations Aviation Regiment (Airborne), which he joined following his completion of the Ml Captains Career Course. While serving as the S2 for 4-160 SOAR(A), he deployed three times to Afghanistan and once to Iraq as the S2 for a special operations task force. He next served as the analysis and control element (ACE) chief for the 7th ID at Joint Base Lewis-McChord, Washington. There he oversaw all intelligence training and readiness for the division headquarters and seven subordinate brigades.

In 2013 he began a broadening experience, first attending Harvard University's John F. Kennedy School of Government, earning a Master in Public Policy degree. He then served as an instructor and assistant professor of American politics in the Department of Social Sciences at West Point. He also served as an adjunct fellow at the Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS) in Washington, D.C. in 2016. During this time, he completed the U.S. Army's Command and General Staff Officer Course.

From 2017-2020, LTC Miller served in the 207th Ml Brigade (Theater) in Wiesbaden, Germany. He first served as the XO and S3 for the 522nd MI Battalion and later as the Theater ACE Chief for U.S. Army Africa. In this assignment, he spearheaded the development of a data science pilot program for U.S. Army's Intelligence and Security Command and U.S. Africa Command.
LTC Miller next served as a military liaison officer and Senior Defense Official, focusing on China, within the U.S. Intelligence Community.

He currently serves as the Commander of the 205th Ml Battalion, 500th Ml Brigade (Theater) in Fort Shafter, HI. In this role, he leads a diverse team of Soldiers, Civilians, and Contractors providing multidiscipline intelligence collection and analysis for the U.S. Army Pacific HQs.

His awards and decorations include the Bronze Star Medal (1 OLC), Defense Meritorious Service Medal, Meritorious Service Medal (1 OLC), Army Commendation Medal (4 OLC), Army Achievement Medal (1 OLC), Combat Action Badge, Parachutist Badge, and Italian Parachutist Badge. He is also a recipient of the Knowlton Award.

He and his wife Jaime have two sons, Dylan (7) and Ryan (5), and daughter Abigail (2).

Biography
Command Sergeant Major Caye's military assignments include: Team Leader, Special Troops Battalion, 75th Ranger Regiment, Fort Benning Georgia from 2006-2008; Senior Intel Sergeant, 1st Battalion, 75th Ranger Regiment Hunter Army Airfield, Georgia from 2008-2010; Team Senior Analyst, SOCPAC, Camp Smith, Hawaii from 2010-2013; Senior Intel Sergeant, 1st Capabilities Integration Group Fort Belvoir, Virginia from 2014-2018; Targeting Officer Course Director, 1st Capabilities Integration Group Fort Belvoir, Virginia from 2018-2020; Targeting Officer Troop NCOIC, 1st Capabilities Integration Group Fort Belvoir, Virginia 2020-2021; J2 SEA, Joint Task Force-Special Reconnaissance Enabling Command, Macdill Air Force Base, Florida from 2021-2022; G2 Sergeant Major, 1st Capabilities Integration Group Fort Belvoir, Virginia from 2022-2024

Command Sergeant Major Caye's military education includes all NCOES up through the United States Army Sergeants Major Course (Class 72), Targeting Officer Training Course, Asset Validation Course, Ranger Course, Airborne Course, and Combat Lifesavers Course.

Command Sergeant Major Caye holds a Bachelor of Science in Health Sciences and Psychology from Guilford College and a Masters in Public Affairs from Indiana University at Bloomington.

Command Sergeant Major Caye's awards and decorations include the Legion of Merit, Bronze Star (1OLC), Defense Meritorious Service Medal, Meritorious Service Medal, Joint Service Commendation Medal (1OLC), Army Commendation Medal (1OLC), Joint Service Achievement Medal (1OLC), Army Achievement Medal (3OLC), Presidential Unit Citation, Meritorious Unit Citation, Army Good Conduct Award (5th), German Armed Forces Badge for Military Proficiency (Silver), and is a Military Intelligence Knowlton Award recipient.

Command Sergeant Major Caye is married to Tina Caye and has one daughter, Quinlin (5); His hobbies include sports, writing, and spending time with his family.

205^th MISSION

The 205th MI BN conducts continuous multidiscipline intelligence analysis and production, CI, and HUMINT operations to enable situational understanding and mission command for commanders in the PACOM AOR; establishes and sustains relationships with regional partners; enables and maintains access to the theater intelligence framework; and on order, deploys tailored intelligence forces in support of unified land operations.
