Chief Warrant Officer 5 Jamie S. Turner assumed responsibility as the Command Chief Warrant Officer for the U.S. Army Intelligence and Security Command (INSCOM) on July 29, 2026.
CW5 Turner is a U.S. Army Counterintelligence (CI) Special Agent and Technician who has served in Army CI for over 28 years. He was born in Waterville, Maine, and enlisted in the U.S. Army in November 1988, as a CI Agent Assistant. He attended Basic Training (BT) at Fort Leonard Wood, MO, followed by Advanced Individual Training (AIT) at Fort Huachuca, AZ. Upon completion of AIT, he was assigned to the Wonju Resident Office, 524th Military Intelligence (MI) Battalion, Yongsan, Korea, as a CI Agent Assistant. His next assignment was at the 902nd MI Group, Fort Meade, MD, as a CI Agent. CW5 Turner completed his service and left the U.S. Army in January 1992.
CW5 Turner enlisted in the U.S. Army, again, in October 2000, as a CI Agent. He attended BT at Fort Jackson, SC, followed by AIT at Fort Huachuca, AZ. Upon completion of AIT, he was assigned to the 202nd MI Battalion, Fort Eisenhower, GA, as a CI Agent, where he deployed to Saudi Arabia in support of Operation Enduring Freedom (OEF) and Kuwait and Iraq in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom (OIF). He moved to the 309th MI Battalion as a CI Agent Course Instructor and CI Force Protection Source Operations Instructor. He was then assigned to 1st Information Operations Command, Fort Belvoir, VA, as an Information Operations Planner and Battalion Operations NCOIC where he deployed to Afghanistan with 3rd Special Forces Group in support of OEF. In April 2007, he attended Warrant Officer Candidate School. He next attended the Warrant Officer Basic Course and reported to Headquarters, 25th Infantry Division, Schofield Barracks, HI, as a CI Technician where he deployed to Iraq in support of OIF as the Commanding General’s Intelligence Officer and Multi-National Division-North Counterintelligence Coordinating Authority (CICA). He moved to the National Capitol Region Field Office, 902nd MI Group, Fort Belvoir, VA, as the Special Agent in Charge and Officer in Charger (OIC). He moved on to the 309th MI Battalion, Fort Huachuca, AZ, as the CI Officer Course Manager and CI Special Agent Course Manager. He then went to the HQ 10th Mountain Division as the Division CICA and G2X OIC. There he deployed to Afghanistan in support of OEF as the Task Force CICA and Division Intelligence Plans Officer and to Iraq in support of Operation Inherent Resolve as the Task Force CICA. After the 10th Mountain Division, he served as the Deputy CICA for U.S. Southern Command, Doral, FL. CW5 Turner next served as the Command Security Manager and Senior CI Advisor for 1st Capabilities Integration Group (Airborne), Fort Belvoir, VA. He last served as the Command Chief Warrant Officer for the U.S. Army CI Command.
CW5 Turner is a graduate of all levels of Professional Military Education. His civilian education includes a Bachelor of Arts degree in Homeland Security and Emergency Management from Ashford University and an Associates of Applied Science in Intelligence Operations from Cochise College.
CW5 Turner’s awards and decorations include the Bronze Star Medal (bronze oak leaf cluster), Defense Meritorious Service Medal (bronze OLC), Meritorious Service Medal (silver OLC), Joint Service Commendation Medal, Army Commendation Medal (four bronze OLCs), Army Achievement Medal (bronze OLC), Joint Meritorious Award (two bronze OLCs), Meritorious Unit Commendation, Good Conduct Medal (3rd award), National Defense Service Medal (bronze star), Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal, Iraq Campaign Medal (2 campaign stars), Inherent Resolve Campaign Medal, Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Korea Defense Service Medal, NCO Professional Development Ribbon (numeral two), Army Service Ribbon, Overseas Service Ribbon (numeral four), and the NATO Medal. He received the LTC Thomas Knowlton Award for Intel Excellence.
CW5 Turner has three adult children and two grandchildren.
